Alabama Governor Kay Ivy Wants An Appointed School Board Instead of Elected

Alabama Governor Kay Ivy Monday proposed replacing the elected school board with an appointed commission.

The commission would be appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Alabama Senate.

The initiative is called "Take The Lead, Alabama."

Voters will vote on the proposal, which would be an amendment to the state constitution, on March 3, 2020, which is the same day for the Presidential and US Senate primaries.
