Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, like many HBCUs, is facing financial troubles. The school is facing a $275,000 debt payment due in April or the institution could "essentially close," according to Interim President Cynthia Warrick.
The debt payment is on a $40 million federal loan.
Warrick sent a letter to alumni seeking help.
