State Board Votes Unanimously to Takeover Montgomery Public Schools

The Alabama State Department of Education voted unanimously Thursday to takeover the Montgomery Public School system due to the number of schools on a failing list.

The board appointed an administrator to report directly to the state superintendent.

The state will oversee MPS until the system is compliant.
