Police Officers Team Up With Firefighters To Rescue Deer Stuck In Mud Pit

Firefighters and police officers in Morrisville, North Carolina, had to team up to rescue a deer that found itself trapped in a mud pit. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the deer buried up to its belly in the thick mud.

Working together, the firefighters and police officers used a few nearby pallets to free the deer, which bolted into the woods once it was out of the mud.

The department shared photos of the rescue on Facebook, joking that they are used to rescuing smaller animals.

"We are certainly accustomed to rescuing ducklings from drains and otherwise keeping our furry critters safe. However, this was one for the books," the department wrote.
