A substitute teacher in Maryland has been arrested after police say she plied the victim with alcohol and brought him to her grandparents' house for sex, authorities said this week.

Alexis Merces Boberg, 25, of Maryland, was arrested by the Anne Arundel County Police Department after the student came forward and reported her on June 4. According to a statement released by the department, the victim told police he and Boberg had exchanged numbers in May and went on to meet several times outside of school that month. The student says he and Boberg had communicated extensively through Snapchat, with the suspect sending the victim multiple explicit photos through the platform.

Boberg and the student first met outside school when she took the victim and his friend to a snowball stand and gave them both small bottles of rum. During that month, they met up several times, until on May 24, police say Boberg took the victim to her grandparent's home where they allegedly engaged in sex. The pair did it again in her car outside a mall in Glen Burnie.

After police were made aware of the allegations on June 4, the Child Abuse Unit executed a search warrant at Boberg's address on June 5. Evidence found during the search, along with witness statements allowed police to obtain an arrest warrant on June 14.

Boberg was arrested and charged with two counts of a fourth-degree sexual offense with a person in a position of authority, and one count of consuming an alcoholic beverage on public property. The suspect turned herself in to authorities without incident the department added.

The Anne Arundel County School Board immediately removed the suspect from having any further contact with children when they were notified of the allegation.
